Ohio Travel Guide(俄亥俄州旅游指南)

By Freelance Chinese Translator Li – English to Chinese translation services - based in China.

Ohio, birthplace of eight US presidents, is located in the heart of the Midwest. The sandy shores of Lake Erie(伊利湖) mark the state's northern border and the long and winding Ohio River marks its southern border. The state's expanse of fertile farmland is dotted(分布) with industrial centres, but also embraces the rolling hills overlooking the Scioto River Valley in the north.

The landscape becomes wilder and steeper as it reaches the foothills of the Appalachian(阿巴拉契亚) mountain chain, and the thick forest lands full of waterfalls and sandstone cliffs in the south. The Cuyahoga(库亚哈嘎)Valley National Recreation(娱乐) area in the northeast near Cleveland has rugged terrain(崎岖不平的地形) with river valleys and steep, forested hills.

The state also has 40,869km (25,543 miles) of waterways, including the Mohican and Tuscarawas rivers. Columbus is Ohio's capital and is the largest city in both area and population - it is the 15th-largest city in the USA.

Introducing New York City(纽约城介绍)

By Freelance Chinese Translator Li – English to Chinese translation services - based in China.

New York can be anything you want it to be. It’s why countless people have pinned their dreams on the place, thrown caution to the wind and shown up on its doorstep(门阶).

If you like a day filled with culture, start with a look at some Tseng Kwong Chi photographs celebrating East Village creativity in the eighties at the Paul Kasmin gallery, before ducking through Central Park to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the current Japanese art exhibition.Round out(丰满起来) your afternoon with some off beat/experimental theater at the Abrons Art Center on the Lower East Side.

If you rather your city a little grittier(多沙的), spend some time in the hidden, restful Trinity Church cemetery(墓地), then cross to the Lower East Side where the Tenement Museum paints an evocative portrait(肖像) of early migrant life on the island. Grab a hot dog from a street cart and stroll around the recently renovated(翻新) Columbus Park, watching the mah jong and domino players compete against a backdrop of basketball.

Just don’t be too shocked if your day of high culture turns into a long afternoon of chicken soup and matzo(犹太逾越节薄饼) balls at a downtown diner– or if your bohemian(放荡不羁的)day runs off the rails when you stumble into a gold mine, and walk out with bags of goodies you didn't realize you needed. Whatever. New York is easy that way.

It’s why visitors keep streaming in from all corners of the globe, grasping at their silver-screen visions – and finding them – but discovering plenty more on the way. If you are willing to approach New York with a combination of organization and openness, you’ll be met with some staggering(难以置信的) and unexpected rewards.

Introducing USA(美国介绍)

By Freelance Chinese Translator Li – English to Chinese translation services - based in China.

The playwright(剧作家) Arthur Miller once said that the essence of America was its promise. For newly arrived immigrants and jet-lagged travelers alike, that promise of America can take on near mythic proportions(部分). America is a land of dazzling cities, towering coast redwoods, alpine(高山的)lakes, rolling vineyards(葡萄园), chiseled(轮廓分明的)peaks, barren deserts and a dramatic coastline of unrivaled(无双的)beauty. And that’s just California!

In the other 49 lie an astounding(使人震惊的) collection of natural and cultural wonders, from the wildly multihued tapestry(锦绣) of urban streets to the mountains, plains and forests that cover vast(广阔的) swaths of the continent. America is the birthplace of LA, Las Vegas, Chicago, Miami, Boston and New York City – each a brimming(满溢的) metropolis(中心) whose name alone conjures(变魔术) a million different notions(概念) of culture, cuisine(烹饪艺术) and entertainment.

Look more closely, and the American quilt unfurls(展开) in all its surprising variety: the eclectic music scene of Austin, the easygoing charms of antebellum (美国南北战争前的)Savannah, the ecoconsciousness of free-spirited Portland, the magnificent waterfront of San Francisco, and the captivating old quarters of New Orleans, still rising up from its waterlogged(涝灾 ) ashes.

This is a country of road trips and great open skies, where four million miles of highways lead past red-rock deserts, below towering mountain peaks, and across fertile wheat fields that roll off(印出) toward the horizon. The sun-bleached(变淡) hillsides of the Great Plains, the lush forests of the Pacific Northwest and the scenic country lanes(小路) of New England are a few fine starting points for the great American road trip.

Humpback whale heaven

By Freelance Chinese Translator Li – English to Chinese translation services - based in China.

Frederick(弗雷德里克)Sound, just a few hours from Petersburg彼得斯堡), is humpback驼背)whale heaven. Join us as we learn about these giant creatures with special insights from our guide, whale photographer Jim Nahmens.

Humpback whales congregate(聚集)here to feed on massive schools of fish and krill. With some luck, we may see these endangered giants as they use bubble nets(泡泡网) to execute their cooperative feeding attacks. Our guide will introduce you to the world of the humpback whale - its life cycle, anatomy(解剖), behaviors, migration(迁移), feeding strategies and current research. He will also share the secrets of getting great whale photos.

Although whales are the focus of this trip, we will also hike in vast rain forests, stroll on secluded beaches, and visit spectacular bays, using both skiffs(小艇)and kayaks(单人划子). We’ll keep our eyes out for other wildlife too-killer whales, seals, porpoises, bears, bald eagles and other birds. And we’ll visit a raucous(沙哑的)Steller sea lion haul out and salmon spawning streams. Along the way, our guide will introduce you to Alaska’s natural history, geology, native culture, flora(植物群)and fauna(动物群).

Join us for this incredible journey. Each day is a new adventure with a backdrop(背景) of beautiful forested islands and snow-capped peaks. This all inclusive excursion includes three gourmet meals per day, cozy accommodations(住处), hot showers, all beverages including select wines with dinner, sea kayaks, skiffs, and the fun-loving company of our guide who is simply nuts about humpback whales and Alaska.
